Dappled sunlight falls through the bare branches of spruce trees, illuminating a chaotic mix of falling snow and rain near Anchorage. Heavy gray cloud bands sweep rapidly overhead, streaked by a jagged bolt of lightning that fractures the pale midday sky. The air carries a thick haze where snowflakes drift gently alongside heavier raindrops, creating a layered depth that recedes into the distant treeline. Wet needles on the foreground branches glisten with moisture, contrasting against the soft, white powder accumulating on the forest floor. The ground shows patches of melting ice and exposed dark earth, signaling the early spring thaw. A final streak of lightning illuminates the underside of the clouds, casting a brief, stark blue glow over the wet, brown underbrush.
