by Ricardo Warren

Workers stand waist-deep in large stone vats filled with vibrant blue and brown leather dyes within the Chouara Tannery in Fez. The late afternoon sun casts long, sharp shadows across the narrow alleyways surrounding the pit area. The traditional method of leather processing in the heart of the medina, with the rich colors of the dyes contrasting against the earthy tones of the surrounding architecture.
