Jacaranda Boulevard Dawn Fog Ferns in on a fern-lined forest floor in the Great Barrier Reef

Jacaranda Boulevard Dawn Fog Ferns

by Leslie Duran

Cold silver dawn light falls across a boulevard lined with jacaranda trees in full purple bloom. Thick wet season fog rests on the ground, obscuring the road surface and softening the bases of the trunks. Pale haze hangs in the air, diffusing the morning glow without moving. Ferns carpet the forest floor along the path, their deep green fronds lying flat beside the suspended purple petals drifting slowly through the air. Vertical tree lines stretch upward against a wide, empty foreground. One fallen petal rests on a damp fern frond near the bottom edge.
