Jaguar Sweeps Through Leaves at Dawn

Before dawn breaks, a jaguar moves through a carpet of fallen leaves beside a tidal inlet near Bahir Dar. Dust lifts softly in the side wind, catching the sudden sweep of lighthouse-like illumination that cuts across the dark water. The animal's spotted coat blends with the damp earth, its muscles tense in patient predatory stillness. A broken branch frames the left edge, creating a natural window that isolates the figure against the misty water. The light highlights the texture of wet fur and the fine particles swirling in the air. Shadows stretch long across the mudflats, and the final beam of the searchlight catches the curve of the jaguar's shoulder as it steps forward.
