Green Sea Turtle Rises Through Sunburst Water

Deep shadow envelops the water column as a green sea turtle ascends toward the surface, its shell catching a sharp rim of golden light. Tiny suspended particles glitter in the sunburst, creating a field of floating dust motes that fade into the distance. The turtle's flippers are extended in a slow, deliberate glide against the dark blue backdrop. Sunlight fractures through the water just above, illuminating the curve of the carapace and the texture of the wet skin. Layers of depth recede behind the animal, where faint outlines of coral formations dissolve into the gloom. The water remains still, holding the creature in a moment of suspended motion before it breaks the surface. A final glint of light catches the edge of a barnacle on the shell's corner.
