Fiji Starfish Tube Feet Late Afternoon

Sunlight penetrates the turquoise water, illuminating the rough, granular skin of a starfish arm in sharp detail. Hundreds of tiny, translucent tube feet extend from the central groove, their suction cups pressing against the rocky substrate. The late afternoon sun casts a harsh, bright glare that makes suspended sand particles glitter like scattered diamonds throughout the water column. The texture of the starfish ranges from deep orange to pale cream, against the dark, shadowed crevices of the coral rock beneath. Tiny bubbles rest on the edges of the appendages, catching the light. One tube foot at the very edge of the frame curls slightly, its tip glowing with a translucent white rim against the darker background.
