Emerald Rice Terrace Curve in Costa Rican Sunset

Freshly irrigated rice rows curve sharply through the terraced landscape, their surfaces reflecting the rich amber light of a dropping sun. The water fills the channels between vibrant emerald stalks, creating a mirror-like texture that shifts with every slight breeze. Distant layers of the hillside recede into a soft, weather-shaped haze, blurring the line between the green fields and the pale sky. The turn of the seasons is visible in the density of the foliage and the wet sheen on the leaves. Water droplets rest on the tips of the stalks, catching the golden glow before sliding back into the channels. The edge of the nearest terrace cuts a clean, dark line against the luminous water.
