Hanging Banana Bunches Costa Rica Rain Light in among terraced garden plots in Costa Rica

Hanging Banana Bunches Costa Rica Rain Light

by Kendrick Cantu

Wet green leaves glisten under the soft, diffused light of a midday sun following a rain shower. Large bunches of unripe yellow-green bananas hang heavily from the central stalks, their skins smooth and slightly slick with moisture. The plants stand in neat rows within terraced garden plots that slope gently downward. Distant hills fade into a low, hazy white line on the horizon, softening the background. The soil between the rows appears dark and rich, against the bright, saturated foliage. One leaf edge curves sharply downward, dripping a small bead of clear water that hangs suspended before falling.
