Dust Storm Approaching Iranian Village Through Fog
by Eli Taylor
A thick wall of ochre dust rises on the horizon, cutting through a low layer of marine fog that rests on the valley floor. Bright midday sun bleaches the sky above, creating a stark contrast between the pale mist and the swirling brown particles. Traditional mud-brick structures with flat roofs cluster in the foreground, their earth tones blending with the approaching storm. Fine sand hangs suspended in the air, softening the edges of the adobe walls and the sparse, early spring vegetation. The dust cloud moves slowly, its leading edge blurring the distant mountains. Shadows stretch short and sharp across the dusty ground, while the fog dampens the light near the village foundations. The boundary between the brown storm and the gray fog creates a jagged, unnatural line across the middle of the frame.
