Dust Storm Approaching Phoenix Village Midday

A thick wall of tan dust dominates the horizon, rising sharply against a pale blue sky at midday. The foreground features a shallow pool of water reflecting the approaching storm, creating a distorted mirror of the darkening clouds. Dry scrub brush lines the edge of the settlement, its leaves coated in a fine layer of suspended grit. The village structures sit low and clustered, their adobe walls blending with the earth tones of the landscape. Dust particles hang visibly in the air, diffusing the harsh sunlight into a hazy, golden glow. A wire fence runs diagonally across the lower third, at the base of the composition as the storm front closes in from the distance. The water surface ripples slightly, catching the shifting light of the encroaching weather.
