Downward Falling Steam in Mikveh Pool Room

Thick, white steam pours downward from the arched stone ceiling like heavy, viscous liquid, pooling on the blue-tiled floor of the mikveh room. The wet season air hangs visible in the north-window sidelight, illuminating dust motes that settle slowly on a dusty library table in Visakhapatnam. Dark, quiet shadows stretch along the rough stone walls, against the bright, cool blue tiles. The impossible stream of vapor descends in a solid, unbroken column, creating a surreal weight that anchors the room. Light reflects off the wet surfaces, highlighting the texture of the stone arches and the smooth glaze of the tiles. One droplet rests on the edge of a blue tile, defying gravity by remaining suspended in the downward flow.
