Emerald scales shimmer across the tight structure of a hummingbird feather, catching the soft, diffused light of a monsoon afternoon. The barbs display a metallic sheen that shifts from deep green to teal against the gray mist hanging above the glacial stream. Water droplets rest on the feather's edge, heavy and clear, reflecting the overcast sky. The background blurs into a wash of slate and white, where the cold stream flows beneath the thick fog. Fine textures of the feather stand in sharp relief against the soft, moving water. One droplet slides down the central shaft, revealing the dark rachis beneath the vibrant green vanes.
