Turquoise water fills the frame around a sandy coral cay, its white grains visible beneath the surface. Sharp caustic patterns dance across the seafloor, shifting with the movement of the waves above. A narrow crevice in the reef wall creates a dark vertical shadow against the bright sand. Plankton haze softens the background, blurring distant coral formations into pale blue shapes. The light filters down in beams, illuminating suspended particles that drift slowly through the water column. Fine sand particles settle near the crevice opening, while the water clarity reveals the texture of the reef rock. One shadow stretches across the sand where the reef structure blocks the sun.
