Silhouetted Coral Cay in Turquoise Midday Water

Soft overcast light flattens the midday sky into a uniform pale wash, casting the coral cay as a dark, sharp silhouette against the glowing water. The cay rests on a submerged reef wall, its white sand barely visible beneath the turquoise surface that transitions to deep blue in the distance. Tiny suspended particles glitter like scattered diamond dust throughout the water column, catching the diffused illumination. Cool season air hangs still, evident in the lack of surface ripples and the heavy, glassy quality of the water. Along the edge of the cay, jagged coral formations break the water line, their rough textures against the smooth, weightless expanse of the ocean beyond.
