Blue Ice Shelf Edge on Museum Plinth

Pale dawn light slips across a polished floor, illuminating a rectangular block of deep blue ice resting on a neutral museum plinth. The ice displays a fractured edge where solid glacier material meets open, dark water within the display. Translucent layers within the ice reveal internal cracks and dense textures formed under pressure. Soft, muted reflections of the blue stone stretch along the smooth surface below, mirroring the object's shape. The endless summer light in Fairbanks creates a cool, even glow that highlights the wet sheen on the ice surface and the clean lines of the exhibit setup. The contrast between the organic, jagged ice edge and the rigid, manufactured plinth defines the spatial relationship.
