Deep indigo water shimmers with clusters of electric blue bioluminescent plankton along the breaking wave edge. A rhythmic beam of white light from a distant lighthouse cuts across the heavy overcast sky, sweeping the dark ridgeline near Ségou and illuminating the frosted grass on the foreground slope. The light reveals the texture of the churning surf where the glowing organisms cluster in bright, scattered patches. Reflections on the wet, frost-dusted ground create a symmetrical mirror of the glowing water and the sweeping beam above. Dark clouds hang low, pressing against the horizon while the artificial light carves a sharp path through the night, highlighting the contrast between the cool blue glow and the stark white illumination.
