Anvil Cloud and Mammatus Over Comoros Horizon
A massive anvil cloud spreads horizontally across the zenith, its white top glowing under the flat glare of noon. Beneath the spreading shield, bulbous mammatus pouches hang in organized rows, their rounded undersides casting soft shadows on the layers below. The sky remains a piercing, uninterrupted blue, free of haze or stray wisps. Below the storm system, a distant horizon line separates the clouds from a layer of stacked thunderheads rising in the background. The water surface reflects the bright white of the anvil, creating a shimmering band of light that mirrors the cloud shapes. The scene reveals the disciplined structure of the storm, with distinct edges separating the deep gray of the storm base from the brilliant white upper atmosphere. A sharp contrast exists between the smooth water reflection and the textured, bumpy surface of the hanging cloud pouches.
