Ant Lion Pit in Sand at Dusk Near Can Tho

A conical depression carved into fine, pale sand marks the edge of a dense reed bed. Low-hanging clouds obscure the sky, allowing distant city lights to cast a soft, orange glow across the horizon. The sand grains form steep, unstable walls within the pit, leading down to the hidden predator below. Tall reeds sway gently in the foreground, their dark silhouettes against the illuminated sand. The scene sits at the turn of seasons, where the light is dim but the urban horizon remains visible. A faint shadow stretches from a single dry reed stalk across the smooth slope of the pit.
