Alpine Meadow River Mist Winter Morning Uttarakhand

Deep shadow swallows the foreground of the alpine meadow while a sharp rim light carves the edges of dry, brittle grasses standing in the dead of winter. A fast river cuts through the valley floor, its surface churning white against the dark, water-logged stones. Thin mist lifts slowly from the cold current, drifting upward into the low-hanging clouds that obscure the distant peaks. The air appears still despite the wind-sculpted posture of the vegetation. Gray sky meets the rugged terrain at the horizon line. One patch of frost rests on the tip of a bent reed near the water's edge.
