Aerial Blue Crevasse Glacier Northwest Territories Summer

by Hailey Kramer

Soft morning light falls through a thin layer of ground fog that rests on the deep valleys surrounding the ice sheet. From directly above, the glacier surface reveals a network of sharp blue crevasses cutting through the white expanse. The ice appears textured with ridges and smooth depressions, glowing with an intense azure hue where sunlight penetrates the dense layers. Below the ice, the fog creates a sea of gray that obscures the valley floor, showing the sheer scale of the frozen landscape. The endless summer light casts no harsh shadows, leaving the terrain in a gentle, diffused glow. At the edge of the frame, a jagged ice ridge breaks the smooth surface, its shadow falling softly onto the snow below.
