Ice Fog Over Sapporo Thunderheads in over a horizon of stacked thunderheads near Sapporo

Ice Fog Over Sapporo Thunderheads

by Ivy Whitfield

A pale, milky veil of ice fog drifts low across the water surface near Sapporo, obscuring the shoreline while a row of stacked thunderheads rises sharply against a perfectly clear sky. The water reflects the bright, endless summer light, creating a shimmering silver path that leads toward the distant horizon. The contrast between the soft, suspended particulate matter and the hard, defined edges of the cloud towers creates a stark visual boundary. The scene remains still, with the fog maintaining a uniform thickness over the dark water. The top edge of the nearest cloud tower catches a thin line of brilliant white light, separating the mass from the deep blue void above.
