Abandoned Observatory Dome in Copper Light

Copper-toned light washes over the rusted metal skin of an abandoned observatory dome perched on a wind-scoured research platform in Rosario. The massive telescope remains fixed, pointing its barrel toward the sky as low-hanging clouds press against the horizon. Early spring leaves the ground bare and gray, stripped of vegetation by the persistent coastal breeze. Converging lines of the metal support structure guide toward a distant vanishing point where the sky meets the platform edge. Peeling paint reveals layers of gray primer beneath the oxidized surface. A faint reflection of the twilight sky glints off the smooth glass of the telescope lens at the far end. The structure stands silent and still against the encroaching dark.
