Honeyed evening light spills across the rusted metal of a solitary observatory dome, its slit open to reveal a telescope locked in a permanent upward gaze. The structure sits in a quiet field near Geneva, surrounded by grass turning from green to gold at the season's edge. Warm firelight hues bathe the curved iron skin, highlighting patches of orange oxidation against the remaining gray paint. The telescope's dark barrel contrasts sharply with the bright sky visible through the opening. No people move in the frame, only the stillness of the instrument and the encroaching twilight. One bolt on the dome's hinge catches the fading sun, glowing like a tiny ember against the cool metal.
