Yemen Limestone Cave River Dawn
Rain-darkened limestone walls curve inward to frame a subterranean river emerging into the coastal mist. Water flows from the shadowed cave mouth, its surface rippling under a faint rim of pale dawn light that skims the rock edges. Fine sea spray hangs in the air, catching the dim glow and softening the sharp contours of the wet stone. The ground is slick with runoff, reflecting the muted blue-grey sky visible at the cave opening. Heavy rain has saturated the soil, turning the entrance path into a muddy track that leads to the water's edge. Droplets rest on the rough texture of the overhanging rock face, glistening against the deep charcoal of the cave interior. The river's current moves steadily toward the sea, leaving a trail of white foam against the dark, water-worn bedrock.
