Underground River Emerging Cave Wet Season in along a wave-cut shoreline near Eldoret

Underground River Emerging Cave Wet Season

by Joanna Burnett

Dark water spills from a jagged cave mouth onto a wave-cut shoreline near Eldoret as twilight deepens. The wet season saturation turns the surrounding rock faces into deep charcoal silhouettes against the fading sky. City lights begin to glow in the distance, casting faint orange reflections on the misty sea spray hovering in the air. Wind carves the surface of the emerging stream, creating ripples that stretch toward the foreground. The composition strips away all but the dark mass of the cave and the flowing water, showing the raw texture of the eroded cliff edge. A final droplet rests on the rough stone rim before falling into the dark pool below.
