Silhouetted Weather Station Ruin Under Stone Arch Beijing

by Tom Marsh

Broken stone arch frames the silhouette of an abandoned meteorological station in early summer evening light. Weather instruments stand jagged against the fading sky, their metal forms reduced to dark shapes. Drifting dust particles catch the backlight, forming visible shafts that cut through the air. The arch's rough texture contrasts with the smooth, dark instruments. Leading lines from the crumbling masonry guide toward the central structure. Shadows stretch long across the ground, showing the height of the arch. at the edge is a thin layer of dust coating the top of a rusted anemometer.
