Winter Selenite Cave Silhouetted Against Foothills
Midday light reflects intensely off a distant water surface, casting a bright, hazy glow that silhouettes the towering selenite formations within a crystal cave. The massive, jagged spikes of translucent gypsum rise vertically, their edges sharp and dark against the blinding white reflection. Below the ridge, layered foothills stretch toward the horizon, their contours softened by the winter haze. Wind whips unseen through the frame, suggested by the turbulent shimmer on the water and the stark, weathered texture of the rock faces. The cave entrance sits deep in shadow, framing the glowing crystals as dark, imposing shapes. The foreground ridge shows rough, dry earth and sparse, wind-bent scrub vegetation typical of the Moroccan landscape. A final beam of reflected sunlight catches the very tip of the tallest selenite spike, creating a sharp, white edge against the dark silhouette.
