Silhouetted Selenite Crystals in Nile Delta Cave

Giant translucent selenite crystals rise from the limestone floor of a gypsum cave in the Nile Delta, their elongated forms stretching toward the high opening. Late afternoon tropical light floods the entrance, turning the massive mineral structures into dark, sharp silhouettes against the bright sky. Low-lying ground fog pools in the uneven rock depressions, softening the base of the formation while the upper tips catch the sun's glow. The rough, textured cave walls frame the smooth, geometric edges of the crystals. Dust motes hang in the air above the fog, illuminated by the strong directional beam. The contrast between the jagged stone floor and the orderly growth of the minerals creates a stark visual rhythm.
