Virga Rain Streaks Over Taiwan Plain

Dark, heavy clouds hang low over a flat expanse of late autumn fields in Taiwan. Beneath the cloud base, distinct streaks of virga dangle like tattered curtains, evaporating before touching the humid ground. The setting sun sits behind the storm, casting the landscape into a deep, flat silhouette. The air appears thick and still, holding a visible haze that softens the distant horizon line. Sparse, dry grasses cover the plain, their tops catching the faint edge of twilight. A faint, pale band of light separates the dark clouds from the shadowed earth, showing the vertical distance the rain never crosses. The streaks hang motionless against the bright, humid sky.
