Twilight Leaf Drying Room Ouarzazate Waterwheel

Cool blue twilight spills across the concrete floor of a vast drying hall in Ouarzazate, where rows of mesh trays stack high against the walls. Green leaves rest on the grid surfaces, catching faint rim light that traces their edges. Deep shadows swallow the center of the room, leaving only the outer walls and high windows visible. A wooden waterwheel stands half-submerged in a shallow channel of stagnant water at the far end. Its dark, weathered spokes contrast with the bright mesh above. The structure exerts a monumental utilitarian force, with concrete stained by mineral deposits. The rim light highlights the wheel's rusted hub and still blades. Along the edge of the frame, the shadow of a tray falls across the wet floor.
