Flat gray clouds press low over a concrete sunken court carved alongside a narrow canal near Marseille. The late morning light falls through the heavy monsoon cover, casting soft, even illumination across the wet gray surfaces. A Dutch angle tilt tilts the vertical lines of the retaining walls, creating a dynamic sense of tension. Water ripples gently in the canal, reflecting the dramatic cloud ceiling above. The rough texture of the aged concrete contrasts with the smooth, dark water. Moss rests on the damp lower edges of the stone, while puddles on the court floor mirror the broken light. One white gull stands motionless on the submerged ledge, its reflection fractured by a passing ripple.
