Sunken Lobby Timber Trusses Monsoon Morning

Flat gray light from heavy monsoon clouds fills a sunken passageway in Makhachkala, casting even illumination across polished stone floors. Exposed timber trusses rise above the void, their dark grain standing out against the pale ceiling. The wet surface mirrors the overhead beams and the sky, creating a strict vertical symmetry where the real wood meets its reflection. Patches of standing water rest on the ground near the edges of the walkway, catching the diffuse glow without breaking the crisp definition of the architecture. A dark vertical beam aligns perfectly with its inverted image on the stone below.
