Wet concrete curves rise sharply from the damp ground, framing a massive canal lock gate scarred by years of water flow. Grey cable trays run parallel to the steel structure, their surfaces slick with rainwater that pools in deep grooves and scratches. The sky above bursts with dramatic, low-hanging monsoon clouds, casting a soft, diffused light across the scene. Wind whips the water droplets from the metal edges, leaving streaks of clarity on the rusted bolts and painted surfaces. Every texture, from the flaking paint to the smooth, water-worn stone, speaks of constant exposure to the elements.
