Gray concrete slabs of a sidewalk surround a metal grate where thick white steam erupts upward into the damp air. A flickering fluorescent light overhead casts a cool, uneven glow against the wet pavement, highlighting silver droplets from the recent drizzle. The steam rises in soft, turbulent columns, partially obscuring the dark underpass tunnel behind it. Leading lines of the cracked sidewalk draw toward the vent's source, showing the gritty texture of the urban environment. The dry season air holds the moisture in a low-hanging haze, while the restless energy of the early morning city lingers in the stillness of the wet stones.
