Dawn Light on Derelict Hydro Plant Turbines

Cold silver dawn light spills across the courtyard where tall grasses reclaim the cracked concrete floor of an abandoned hydroelectric facility near Istanbul. Through a large, grimy window frame, three massive turbine blades stand motionless, their metal surfaces dull and pitted with rust. The heavy overcast sky diffuses the morning glow, casting a flat, cool illumination over the scene. Green shoots push through fissures in the masonry, softening the hard industrial edges. A layer of gray dust coats the window sill, while the distant turbines loom like skeletal giants against the pale, cloud-filled horizon. at the edge is a single blade tip catching the faint, silver reflection of the sky.
