Winter Commuters Under Tram Stop Heat Lamps

Deep shadow swallows the lower half of the frame while faint rim light outlines the silhouettes of three people standing beneath a flickering underpass fixture in Nagaon. Steam rises steadily from metal grates on the wet pavement, curling upward into the pre-dawn gloom. Thick wool coats and scarves drape over the figures, their breath visible only as transient vapor against the cold air. The ground glistens with recent rain, reflecting the dim, amber glow of the heat lamps mounted overhead. A low-angle perspective emphasizes the towering concrete pillars flanking the waiting area, creating a narrow corridor of light. The steam drifts slowly across the boots of the commuters, mingling with the cool air before dissipating into the darkness. One droplet slides down the rusted metal edge of the lamp housing.
