Steam Rises from Manhole at Meskel Square Dawn

Silvery winter light washes over the wet pavement of Meskel Square as rain drizzles down on the tram stop before dawn. A heavy iron manhole cover sits at the corner, its surface steaming heavily as moisture escapes from beneath. The steam rises in thin, white ribbons that blur against the dark asphalt. Water beads on the metal grates and runs in rivulets across the street, reflecting the dim gray sky. Behind the steaming cover, the empty platform stretches into the mist, lined with simple concrete benches and metal poles. Dampness hangs in the air, visible in the way the light catches every falling drop. A faint orange glow from a distant streetlamp casts a soft reflection on the slick ground near the curb, highlighting the texture of the wet stone.
