Steam Vent Blasts Sidewalk Grate Under Russeifa Light

Thick white steam erupts upward from a rusted metal grate set into wet concrete beneath a flickering underpass bulb. Hard coastal glare pierces heavy overcast skies, illuminating the vapor as it rises against the dark gray pavement. Rain-soaked surfaces reflect the gray sky and the yellow glow of the failing fixture. Deep cracks filled with grime run along the sidewalk toward the violent release of vapor. Metal bars of the grate are slick with water, their orange corrosion contrasting against the dark asphalt. A puddle at the edge mirrors the swirling steam and the flickering light source hanging directly above.
