Starry Sky Over Ancient Belize Amphitheater Ruins in under the clearest stretch of sky in Belize

Starry Sky Over Ancient Belize Amphitheater Ruins

by Spencer Rich

Deep indigo darkness fills the frame, broken only by the sharp, unblinking points of a dense starfield stretching across the zenith. Below, weathered limestone blocks of an ancient amphitheater rise from the shadowed earth, their rough textures softened by the faint, cool ground glow reflecting off the dry, cleared soil. The stone arches create deep recesses where shadows pool thickly, against the bright starlight that spills over the crumbling edges. No artificial light disturbs the view, leaving the ruins silent and still under the clearest sky Belize has to offer. One beam of starlight catches the uneven edge of a broken column in the foreground, highlighting its pitted surface against the void.
