Silhouetted Pipefish Amidst Seagrass in Mombasa

Bright midmorning sunlight penetrates the exceptionally clear water, casting a sharp silhouette of a slender pipefish against the luminous surface. The creature hangs motionless beside a tide-cut rock ledge, its elongated body blending with the vertical sway of seagrass blades. Rainy season clarity renders the water glass-like, revealing the fine texture of the plant stems and the rough, wet surface of the submerged stone. Slow-moving ripples distort the light above, creating a shimmering, otherworldly blue stillness that wraps around the marine life.
