Seahorse Near Anchor Chain Croatian Kelp

Midday sunlight pierces the Adriatic water, illuminating a pale seahorse clinging to a rusted iron anchor chain. The heavy metal links, covered in encrusted marine growth, run diagonally across the frame against a backdrop of swaying brown kelp fronds. Late autumn light creates a harsh glare on the surface, scattering suspended particles that glitter like dust motes in the water column. The seahorse's curled tail grips the cold metal, its mottled orange and cream skin blending with the surrounding rust and algae. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant kelp forest, leaving only the sharp, textured details of the chain and the creature in focus. One grain of sand rests on the lowest visible link.
