Saddle-billed Stork Dawn Shadow Rim Light

Deep shadows cloak the grassy game trail near Iloilo, broken only by a sharp rim of pale dawn light outlining a saddle-billed stork. The bird stands motionless in the tall green and gold grasses, its long legs partially obscured by the turn-of-season vegetation. A slender neck stretches upward, the black and white plumage stark against the muted background. The shallow depth of field blurs the distant foliage into soft patches of brown and green, isolating the stork's patient posture. The rim light catches the curve of the wing feathers, creating a thin, glowing edge that defines the bird's silhouette against the darkening morning.
