Rusted Waterwheel in Abandoned Ukrainian Mill Ruins

Deep indigo twilight settles over the skeletal remains of a paper mill, where a massive iron waterwheel stands seized by thick, flaking rust. The structure rests among collapsed stone cloisters, their arches broken and half-swallowed by creeping greenery of late spring. Ground fog pools in the low depressions between the ruins, softening the base of the crumbling walls while a thin layer of mist hangs just above the water's surface. Reflected light from the dark river casts a muted, silvery sheen across the wet stones and the corroded metal spokes. Vines drape heavily over the upper beams, and the waterwheel's heavy iron teeth bite into the stagnant flow. The final shadow falls sharply across a jagged fragment of brickwork near the water's edge.
