Rouen Construction Corner Block Laying Noon Light

by Jeff Rhodes

Flat noon glare washes over a rough concrete block corner where half-bond starts define the masonry work. Gray grout buckets sit near the base, while mason lines stretch tautly back toward a distant mixer stand. The air carries visible dust from sawdust and concrete, suspended in the bright site light that defines every unfinished surface. Damp earth surrounds the open ground beneath a towering steel crane structure. Late autumn leaves the ground bare and cold. A specific metal bracket on the mixer stand catches the harsh light, anchoring the composition with industrial precision.
