Mason Line Spools Under Crane in Rwanda

by Marvin Vega

Three large spools of mason line sit in a neat row on wet, packed earth beneath the towering steel legs of a construction crane. Late morning light reflects off shallow puddles, casting a cool, diffused glow across the scene. A stiff breeze lifts the edge of a nearby translucent plastic sheet, creating sharp folds that ripple against the ground. Dust rests on the treated wood planks scattered nearby, highlighting the rough texture of the timber. The steel cables of the crane show signs of use, gleaming faintly against the gray sky. Water droplets bead on the plastic, catching the light before sliding down the slope of the sheet.
