Scaffolding Against Steel in Loire Valley Noon

by Melody Griffin

Hard white light floods the construction site where a metal scaffolding grid clings to a concrete building facade. Beside the temporary structure, exposed structural steel beams rise vertically, their gray surfaces reflecting the flat noon glare. Fine dust particles hang suspended in the shafts of light, creating visible columns between the metal poles. The ground below shows patches of early spring greenery pushing through cracked pavement near the foundation. The scene presents a monumental utilitarian force, with the rigid geometry of the scaffolding contrasting against the raw industrial steel. A thin layer of gray residue coats the lower horizontal bars where the structure meets the concrete wall.
