Red Fox Kit on Windy Ridge Before Dusk

Copper-toned light washes over a wind-scoured ridge in Zhejiang as a young red fox kit tumbles across the dry earth. Low dust hangs in the air, catching the fading sun and softening the background into a blur of ochre and brown. The kit's russet fur glows against the pale soil, its small paws kicking up tiny clouds of grit. Ears twitch forward, alert and rounded, while a loose tuft of tail fluffs behind. The shallow depth of field isolates the playful animal from the distant, rolling terrain. One shadow stretches long and sharp across the dusty ground beneath the kit's hind legs.
