Maned Wolf Shines in Late Autumn Firelight

Golden light breaks through the overcast sky to illuminate wet fur on a maned wolf standing amidst tall reeds. The animal's reddish coat glistens where raindrops rest on the hair, catching the warm glow of a brief sun shower before sunset. Long legs anchor the creature on the muddy game trail near Ciudad del Este, while the surrounding grasses sway in the damp air. Shadows stretch across the foreground, dark and cool against the sudden brightness on the wolf's flank. Water droplets hang from the reed tips, reflecting the fading daylight. The wolf's ears remain perked forward, eyes fixed on an unseen point beyond the frame. One droplet slides down the animal's chest, catching the light before vanishing into the wet fur.
