Rain Soaked Nigerian Barracks with Polished Cots

Soft tungsten light spills across a long, rain-lashed bunk room in Nigeria, illuminating rows of metal cots that remain aligned despite the surrounding decay. Heavy monsoon rains have breached the roof, creating shallow pools on the concrete floor that reflect the warm, yellow glow. Dust coats the peeling paint on the walls, while the metal frames of the beds retain a surprising polish, catching small, sharp highlights against the gloom. The open sides of the structure expose the interior to the driving wind, blurring the line between the sheltered space and the dark night outside. Water droplets rest on the lower edges of the cots, glistening like scattered diamonds in the dim, steady illumination.
