Quarry Lake Amidst Chalk Cliffs in Evening Light

Honeyed amber light floods a circular quarry lake, turning the water into a sheet of liquid brass. Steep chalk cliffs rise vertically around the perimeter, their white surfaces glowing against the deepening blue of the sky. A fine metallic haze hovers just above the water's surface, catching the low sun and creating a shimmering curtain that softens the sharp edges of the rock. The surrounding industrial worksite features scattered piles of crushed stone and heavy machinery silhouettes in the distance. Dark shadows stretch across the rough gravel floor, against the bright, dusty atmosphere. The water's edge meets the chalk in a jagged line of wet sand and pale sediment. Tiny ripples disturb the surface near the shore, breaking the reflection of the towering cliffs.
